iPhone Photography - Creating A Series

Anybody who follows me on social media has been seeing lots of photographs of gardenias. I tried for 30 years to grow gardenias and finally, after moving my plants out into the sun, I am getting blossoms.

This is the first series I have done in quite awhile. I have 46 photographs taken and edited on my iPhone and currently have about another 40 buds. It has gotten me thinking about photographing series. There are some fabulous photographers who have done them. Click here to see some of my favorite series photographers.

One day - pre COVID 19, I was walking down the street, in Ajijic Mexico, when I saw this wonderful dog with sunglasses, sitting by himself in front of a mural.

I so needed him that day. I had just received the news that my dear friend Leslie had died. I was feeling so sad and then I turned the corner and there was this great dog. I knew Leslie would have loved him. He made me smile.

Magic happens.

I created this image using my iPhone XS Max Camera and edited it in the Hipstamatic app.

Gardenia Abundance

My Gardenias are blooming like crazy this year. Their beauty and smell remind me to be grateful every time I pass them sitting on the table.

I tried for many years to get gardenia plants to bloom and they never would. I had lush green leaves but the buds would turn brown and drop off. I moved my three plants so they would get a bit more sun last year and I have had an abundance of blossoms ever since.

I had almost lost hope.

I shot this multi-exposure image with my iPhone XS Max Camera, using the Hipstamatic app.

Send a Snail Mail Greeting Card From an App

Recently I wanted to send a snail mail card to friends in the U.S. Not an easy thing to do when sheltering in place in Mexico.

I discovered the Felt iPhone app which made it so easy. I could either use their images or my own. They are located in Colorado, so not only was it mailed from the U.S. to my friends in California and Washington, but I was helping the U.S. post office. They actually put a stamp on the envelope and addressed it for me.

Plus who doesn't love to get a snail mail card these days? An online card is just not the same as going to your mailbox and getting a surprise.
